SUMPTUOUS SILK WORKSHOP

If you would like to learn about the addictive art of painting on silk you can join a Silk Painting Workshop or have individual or small group classes that cater to your needs.

The two day workshops run on weekends from 9.30 am to 4 pm each day at my home surrounded by the beautiful bush at Crescent Head.

My silk workshops are lots of fun and the feedback from participants has been very positive. A small group of about six works well and it is a pretty relaxed and creative weekend. I provide tea, coffee and morning tea and participants bring something for lunch to share.

The workshop includes demonstrations and instructions on how to draw, paint, steam set and frame your artwork. We aim to produce one small artwork on the Saturday and a bigger one on the Sunday.

If you are keen to have a go, let me know ASAP and the first 6 in with their deposit or full payment will form the class.

So how much does it cost?

I supply the silk painting materials eg 1 metre of silk, all dyes, gutta (gold, silver, black and white) with gutta bottles and nibs, 2 small canvases and calico which covers the 2 days. Cost $145 for 2 days plus $55 materials. Including morning tea Full cost $200.

Individual tuition: 3 - 4 hours $120 including materials( Silk,dyes gutta 1 small canvas etc. This enables you to learn and produce one silk painting as well as how to how to draw, paint and steam set your artwork. I will paint along side the student so you can also see my techniques. Tea and coffee and muffins are provided all you need to do is bring your lunch.
