“In My Backyard “
Solo Art Exhibition at Macleay Valley Community Art Gallery, 5 Kinchela Street, Gladstone, NSW.
Wednesday 10th November to Sunday 28th November, 2021. 10.30 to 4pm. Open Tuesdays to Sundays.
My inspiration for this exhibition has come from the diverse and amazing local subjects that surround me. I live on a beautiful bush block near Crescent Head and have taken the time to gaze in wonder at the variety of flora and fauna that surrounds us.
Of course I must also include the amazing natural beauty of local beaches here on the Mid North Coast because I can never stay away for long and the coast is a source of meditation and happiness. My mark making or drawing is with gutta (a rubber with dye) squeezed through a bottle with nib attached , followed by a brilliant palette of Drimarene K and Silk Designer dyes in the medium of silk painting.
In a world of huge challenges with Pandemics, isolation and lockdowns, I always turn to my art to find happiness, to be centred and to look towards a positive view of life.
