“Heartfelt “
1st - 21st Dec 2020
Open Tuesdays to Sundays 10 to 4 pm
Solo Art Exhibition at Macleay Valley Community Art Gallery, 5 Kinchela street, Gladstone, NSW.
This exhibition explores the heartfelt inspiration for my artworks. What triggered the initial feeling “I have to paint that” and how the emotions are involved with the decision. Botanicals are definitely an influence here inspired by the precise drawings and paintings of plants often with a white background. Then bushfires, continual smoke and the lockdown for Covid overtook our lives. With my art I was continually seeking that happy place, that time before or in the future when our lives would be happy, serene and disease free. My emotional connection with my paintings helped me to escape reality and find that happy place. We also embraced exploring our local beaches and those a little further away as the restrictions eased. I hope my art makes you feel happy and reconnects you to a hopeful future.
